Sale! Rosso di Montalcino – a wine that embodies the union of innovative and traditional approaches winemaking. Grape wine is grown in vineyards located just outside the southern boundary of the area of Brunello. Late harvest, it is collected in mid-October, and always by hand. Bunches are sent to the cellar, where they are separated from the sorting table ridges, low quality berries and other particles, which only prevent the production of high quality wine. After passing a rigorous selection on several tables, berries finally fall into tanks, where the process of vinification. After fermentation in stainless steel vats, during which varies from 12 to 18 days, the wine is matured for 12 months in barrels of Slavonian oak. Sangiovese is aged in large – on 48 and 72 hectoliters – barrels and Colorino – in small, 6 hectoliters. Deep taste of the wine will develop its own nuances within 5-7 years.
Casanova di Neri Winery was founded in 1971 when Giovanni Neri bought a large estate in Montalcino, in an area famous for excellent conditions for growing grapes and creating great wines. The estate belonged to 35 hectares of vineyards. Gradually Giovanni Neri join him and other lands, so today the winery has a total of about 60 hectares, which are divided into four vineyard: “Petradoniche”, which is located in Castelnuovo del Abate, “Le Cetin” in Sant’Angelo in Colle, “Cherretalto” and “Fiesole” to the east, near the farm, in front of Montalcino. Which lie on different slopes of Montalcino vineyards are influenced by the radical differences in the soil, microclimate, environment, flora. Each wine “Casanova di Neri” reflects these differences and has an individual character and a consistently high quality.
The total area of Casanova di Neri estate of 350 hectares of vineyards are planted in addition to olive groves. In 2000, Casanova di Neri farm were built new cellars, which are completely located underground and comply with the latest technology.
