Wine Castellani, “Corte Baroni” Vermentino, Toscana IGT, 2022

“Corte Baroni” Vermentino – a refreshing dry white wine made from Vermentino grapes, which is grown in the company’s vineyards in Tuscany. Vermentino is well adapted to the Mediterranean climate of Tuscany and is widely used by local winemakers to create light, aromatic white wines with characteristic notes of ripe peach, lemon zest, dried herbs and salty sea breeze. The vines are up to 15 years old. The hand-picked crop is carefully graded, combed and softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel containers at a temperature not exceeding 12 C to preserve the brightness of the aroma and freshness. Upon completion of alcoholic fermentation, the wine is subjected to double filtration and bottled.

Castellani is a family-owned winery founded in 1903 in Italy. Since then, the farm has undergone many innovative changes and has gone through several stages of development. Today, the vineyard area of the farm has more than 250 hectares of land in the prestigious areas of Chianti Classico, Tuscany and the Leaning Hills. Wineries have been built in each region, which makes it possible to process the harvested crop as quickly as possible, avoiding transportation and preserving the integrity of the berries. The company has a well-developed internal infrastructure. It has its own laboratory, equipped with the latest equipment, which controls the work of another 360 oenological laboratories. The production is equipped with three state-of-the-art filling lines of the highest level, allowing the most efficient use of working hours.

Castellani does not use chemical fertilizers, pesticides and other agents harmful to both humans and nature. Thanks to such measures, the vineyards of the farm are environmentally friendly. Wine bottles are sealed with a cork, which is also subject to technological analysis. At regular intervals, the company, at its discretion, selects a certain number of products and conducts destructive tests to identify and eliminate possible defects.
The range of the company is wide and includes both classic Tuscan wines, produced from Sangiovese and other grape varieties, as well as experimental lines. Castellani ranks among the top 500 Italian companies according to research published by the internationally renowned Financial Times and the Wall Street Journal.
