  • Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012 from Chateau St. Michelle – a well-balanced wine with complex flavors and silky tannins, which perfectly demonstrates the concentrated red fruit. Grape wine is grown in the eastern part of the Valley of Columbia, in the vineyards of Cold Creek, Canoe Ridge Estate and Indian Wells. All Vineyards Chateau St. Michelle Columbia Valley to lie under the protection of the Cascade Mountains and receive only 6-8 inches of rain per year. Warm sunny days and cool nights create ideal conditions for the development of an intense aroma and flavor of ripening grapes. Sandy soils with low fertility and low water-holding capacity provide precise control of the growth of grapes.

    In 2012, before the buds have blossomed expected. The beginning of summer was marked by low air temperature. Warming began in late July. Dry weather lasted until the beginning of the harvest in mid-October. Assembled ripe grapes were desteblirovan and connected to different strains of yeast to create the maximum complexity. Gentle pumping of the wort in the fermentation process has been used for more complete extraction of color and flavor and soft elastic tannins. The wine is aged for 16 months in barrels of French and American oak, 31% of which – new.

    Chateau St. Michelle is one of the oldest and most famous wineries in the valley of the Columbia. The Chateau was built in 1912 by Baron Frederick Stimson. These wines combine tradition of Old World winemaking innovations of the New World. Recognition wines of Saint Michel grew with each passing year, and now Chateau consistently receives the highest awards in the industry. On account of his “Wine Brand of the Year 2008” Market Watch Magazine, “American Winery of the Year 2004” by Wine Enthusiast and “2005 Winery of the Year” by Restaurant Wine.

    Chateau Ste Michelle is one of the few in the world who owns both the two wineries, one of which is dedicated to white and the other red grape varieties. This approach allows the oenologist Bob Berto create red and white wines with unique characteristics. Saint Michel Vineyards are located on the east side of the Cascade Mountains, where the climate is dry and sunny. White wines produced in Woodinville, near Seattle. Red wines are made on Canoe Ridge Estate in eastern Washington.
