Wine “Conti D’Arco” Cabernet Sauvignon, Trentino DOC, 2020

Brand “Conti D’Arco” includes a series of wines of Trentino DOC, made from selected grapes harvested in the best areas of the Trentino region. The name of the brand comes from a noble family the Middle Ages, situated on a cliff with an impressive castle of Arco, which offers wonderful views of the vineyards in the valley between Lake Garda and the Dolomites to the Brenta. Gruppo Italiano Vini (GIV) has acquired the brand “Conti D’Arco”, which has a long history, and has established an agreement for the production of wines “Conti d’Arco” with Mezzacorona winery, which is one of the most interesting wineries in Trentino. Winemakers Gruppo Italiano Vini control every stage of the production process, from the vineyard to the bottle.

Cabernet Sauvignon, a native of the Gironde in Bordeaux, was introduced in Italy in 1820 and found in Trentino a very favorable environment. Grapes for wine production “Conti D’Arco” Cabernet Sauvignon collected from vineyards on the hills along the northern shores of Lake Garda. The vines are cultivated on a loose, well-drained soil and provide excellent harvest, which is about 100 kg per hectare. Ripe grapes harvested in early October, and vinified by the classical method for red wines: a 15-day maceration and fermentation at a controlled temperature of 28 C. Then the wine is aged for a short time in oak barrels. Cabernet Sauvignon can be stored in bottles in a horizontal position in a cool, dark place 4-5 years.
