Wine Craven, Pinot Gris, Stellenbosch WO, 2021

Claret has a long history not only in Stellenbosch, but also in South Africa as a whole. But, unfortunately, its plantings were reduced in favor of more popular varieties. One of the few vineyards of this variety “Eikenhof” with granite-sandy soils is planted with 30-year-old vines Claret. Wine Craven, Clairette Blanche is made in two different styles: 60% of the grapes are fermented in contact only with the skin in steel tanks, and 40% – whole clusters in oak barrels. The fermentation process takes about 10-12 days, after which the wine matures in old barrels for 10 months. It is bottled without clarification.
