Wine Gere Attila, “Solus”, 2019

Merlot wine for extraordinary monosortovogo “Solus” grown on the highest part of the slope Kopar, where the soil is so poor that there is practically no vegetation. Name of wine in Latin means “unique”. Wine is really unique, it is fascinating color depth, seductive aroma and exquisite, strong, powerful taste with a long lingering aftertaste. “Solus” produced only in the most successful years. Crop harvested by hand and carefully sorted. Grapes from the crests separated and sent to the fermentation vats, and then placed into wine barrels new Hungarian oak, where incubated for 16 months.
Wine Solyus 2002, noted the title of “Best International Red Wine” at the “Austrian Wine Challenge” in Vienna in 2004.

Winemaking family Hera engaged representatives of seven generations, but family tradition had violated the Second World War. Attila Gere began working in forestry. But the realization that Villany region has great potential for the production of red wines, Attila did not give rest. Confirmation of the correctness Gera found in the home of his future father-in wine. And the fate of Attila presented a wedding gift – a celebration gave him a small vineyard. For several years, Hera combined hard work with the vine and work in forestry. Hard work was a success, in 1986 the wine of Attila Gere appeared in stores.
In 1991, Hera dismiss the forester and completely gives herself a family wine business. Expanding the area of activity, Hera, the first in the region, opens tourist “Guest house” wanting to get acquainted with the production of wines in Villani. Following the main goal – to show the world the potential of red Hungarian wines – in 1992, together with the Austrian Franz Weninger enologist, Attila builds a new winery and fully modernize equipment. During this time, significantly expanded the vineyard area, which originally was only 8 hectares.
