Just 5 km from the cool Atlantic Ocean, at the foot of the majestic Helderberg Mountains covered with vineyards with old vines, the harvest from which spawned an incredibly elegant and structured wines that are included in the line “Reserve Range”. This range includes aged wines with exceptional character, depth and concentration.

Ken Forrester, “Renegade” – an elegant red dry wine made from Shiraz, Grenache and Mourvedre grapes that most accurately reflect all the strength, power and elegance of the Stellenbosch terroir. This elegant blend demonstrates the style of the Old World with berries from the New World, a peculiar combination of tradition and innovation. Vineyards are located on the slopes of Mount Helderberg, in the heart of the Stellenbosch wine region. The cool climate, combined with clay-sandy soil interspersed with loam, allows the grapes to reach their full potential. Productivity is 8 t / ha. Harvested by hand when the berries reach optimum maturity. Wort is fermented in open containers at a controlled temperature with regular pumping to fully extract color and tannins. After soft pressing, the wine is aged in French oak barrels of the second and third filling for 18 months. Long exposure guarantees a good structure, complexity and depth of the taste palette, softness of tannins.

The 2014 vintage was awarded a silver medal at the Sommelier Wine Awards in 2019.
