Wine Paringa Estate, “Estate” Shiraz, 2017

Shiraz grown on the Mornington Peninsula, in recent years has become a powerful and positive tool winemaking. Old vines, global warming, the ability to growers and winemakers – all these factors together and played a major role in the creation of great red wines from Shiraz region Mornington. These wines have their own style, different from Shiraz from Barossa Valley or McLaren. Its structure and elegance sharp-spicy shades of tobacco, licorice and pepper, they are somewhat similar to Cyr from the French Rhone Valley.
“Estate” Shiraz 2009 – perfect, very tasty wine that has both restraint and force. The grapes for its creation is grown on the three blocks of the vineyard with dark red soils of volcanic clay. Age of vines is 20-25 years. Harvest of each block is fermented separately in the three-ton open stainless steel fermentor. After blending the wine is aged 18 months in French oak barrels for one and two years of age. At the peak of ripeness wine will be in the period from 2013 to 2021.

Paringa Estate was founded by winemaker Lindsay McCall in 1985 in the heart of the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, in the wine region of Victoria. Own vineyard farm, located right next to the winery – a small area of only 10 acres (4.2 ha.) It grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Pinot Gris. Also, since 2008 the winery leases a number of vineyards in other areas. In the year Paring Estate collects 220 tons of grapes from which produces 16,000 cases of wine. The current winery was built in 1998, on the upper level of the building is a restaurant that is very popular with locals and tourists. Paringa Estate is one of the most awarded wineries in Australia, especially famous for its Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
